Gmail QR Code Sign-In: Verification and Passkey Help
A QR-code prompt during Google sign-in can be part of a verification or passkey flow. Read the instructions on the screen: the correct next step depends on the particular challenge. A QR code does not, by itself, tell you whether a password is invalid.
Identify the prompt
Google documents QR-based phone verification in some two-step verification situations. A passkey flow can also let a nearby phone help you sign in on another device. Follow the instructions for the prompt you actually see.
Complete a legitimate verification flow
- Confirm you started the sign-in on Google's own site.
- Read the computer's instructions and scan the QR code with the required device.
- Complete the requested confirmation on that device.
- Return to the original sign-in screen and follow the remaining steps.
For a cross-device passkey flow, follow Google's device and proximity requirements, including Bluetooth when requested. The phone must have access to the relevant passkey; an arbitrary phone is not a replacement for a missing verification method.
If you cannot complete the challenge
Use another sign-in method if Google offers one, or follow the official account-recovery process. Installing an emulator or switching apps does not establish account ownership and is not a reliable substitute for the requested verification. Do not assume every challenge can be bypassed.
If this relates to an Accstan order
Compare the supplied verification information with the listing. If a required feature is missing, contact support with the order reference and a description of the prompt. Do not send passwords or verification codes in a public channel.
Replacement or refund eligibility depends on the listing and our Terms of Service. Report invalid credentials or a listing mismatch through your Orders page or support. Read the conditions before changing or using an account.
